Send any changes that need to be made to your pages to email@example.com It is best to send in a format like Word, which allows the info to be copied and pasted into the database. Our customers tend to look for special offers, so make sure to send in any special offers you are running. It is best to send specials as early as possible. We usually take bookings a month in advance. If a customer phones looking for a Mother's Day package and yours is not up, you lose a potential booking! Christmas specials must be sent in by at least early October. This avoids us having to turn clients away at a later date due to lack of availability..
All specials that you send through, are added to your specials page. The booking consultants select which specials are featured on the monthly specials pages.
Each booking consultant is allocated a number of spas. When a customer calls looking for a spa in a particular area, that consultant will generally remember those spas that they are in regular contact with and know have availability and good specials running. Our customers tend to look for specials that are perceived as value for money, such as a day at the spa for about R1000. Our customers like packages which allow them to socialize, preferably including use of facilities and meals. Couples packages are very popular. We like to promote specials which are exclusive to Health Spas Guide.
Our consultants are responsible for choosing the special offers featured in our newsletter. Bear in mind, that as there are over 300 spas on the website, and we work on a commission basis, consultants pick the specials that they feel are likely to appeal to our readers, and generate the most sales. Although day spa packages are the bestsellers for us, especially in central locations, you can speak to your booking consultant and ask if there's any advice she can offer to make your specials more appealing to our customers, therefore more likely to get included in the newsletter. It helps if the booking consultant can visit your spa, and preferably receive some treatments, so that they are more knowledgeable about what you offer, and can recommend your spa to the appropriate customers.
Quite a lot of our visitors enquire about several spas. The spa(s) that confirm availability quickly are more likely to get the booking than the spa(s) that delay their replies for hours or even days. It is imperative that spas send confirmation to clients once the consultant has made the booking. This makes it easier for the consultants to facilitate payments and to finalize the booking. It's also critical that confirmation includes the spas cancellation policy as we will not be held responsible for no shows.
When you are listed, you should automatically be entered onto our spas database. This means that you are sent about 3 emails a month, usually on a Thursday, with information for spas listed on our website. This may be about policy changes, promotional opportunities with Health Spas Guide or other companies, information we think you might be interested in, or advertisements targeting the spa trade.

Health Spas Guide runs a monthly competition which requires a spa to provide prize(s) to the total value of at least R15 000. In return, your competition will be featured on our homepage, as well as have an email newsletter sent out about it. The competition runs for about 2 and a half weeks, during which time it is promoted in our various newsletters.
