River Manor Country House and Spa comprises two gracious Manor Houses built in the early 1900's and set within a tranquil garden setting in the picturesque Oak-lined "Avenue". Across from the Eerste River, this Avenue is fondly referred to as "Lovers' Lane".

Both Manor Houses have been awarded National Monument status (Listed Buildings), and as such have the history and sophisticated charm of a by-gone era.

Being a stone's throw away from the centre of historical Stellenbosch, River Manor is a two minute stroll from many superb restaurants, galleries, banks and museums - with no need for guests to be concerned about "drinking and driving".

Many of the renowned Western Cape wine estates and golf courses are a five to ten minute drive from River Manor, while for the more energetic, cycling and jogging paths are just across the River and lead into the countryside and Stellenbosch Mountain.
