Riverview Manor - Rehabilitation Clinic - Drakensberg
Riverview Manor Rehab Centre in the Drakensberg - accommodation consists of comfortable two, three and four bedded rooms with private bathrooms and valley and berg views.
Private and Executive suites are available on request, all with satellite television.
Patients requiring more intensive medical care are admitted to our high care facility with 24 hour observation by trained staff. Although patients are encouraged to participate actively in all programmes as soon as possible, those needing nursing care are attended to by a dedicated and well-trained staff.
Recreation
Relaxation is important in the therapeutic context. Two large lounges, which are sumptuously furnished, offer an opportunity for reflection or a chance to get together with other patients. Digital satellite television is available in the lounges and other recreation areas. The games room offers a pool table & table tennis. A gymnasium is available to patients. Improving ones level of fitness is encouraged as an important part of therapy.
For those well enough, weekend activities include supervised day hikes in the surrounding foothills. Horse riding, abseiling and picnics can also be arranged. The area is a well known and popular haunt for those interested in bird watching.
Cuisine
Meals are served in our spacious dining hall. A selection of meals is available on our menu.
As we consider a healthy, balanced diet an essential part of therapy, care is taken by our caterer and dietician to provide wholesome, varied meals. Provision is made for those patients requiring specially prepared meals for medical or religious reasons. Kosher and Halaal food will be provided on request although we do not have a registered Halaal kitchen.Administration
Professional and efficient administration is required of all staff working in this department. You will receive friendly assistance from your first contact with Riverview Manor.
In particular, we will attend to the following on your behalf:
- Transport arrangements by air or road from any destination to Riverview Manor.
- Comfortable and affordable accommodation for family members accompanying patients or patients, who themselves, wish to stay on longer in the area and attend outpatient therapy.
