A diamond in the rough

Krause Wiid Spa (Pretoria), is situated near Roodeplaat dam, away from the rush of the city.

You’ll arrive at this beautiful country location, and a sense of serenity will wash over you immediately... The spa is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, and feels like a home away from home!

I was greeted by Marietjie, the manager of the spa. It turns out that this is not only a day spa, but a beauty academy as well.

Krause Wiid offers their own range of products and in salon machines, with the training taking place at their premises. All products are formulated to prevent and protect the skin against dehydration and sun damage. "A healthy skin is a beautiful skin" says Willa Krause (the spa’s owner). The future plans for the spa are to grow the training academy and open a restaurant on-site. The spa also caters for conferences, and wedding receptions for a maximum of 250 guests.

As is the norm at spa’s Krause Wiid offers full and half day packages. However, you may also create your own package to suit your needs (and pocket!). With four treatment rooms, and a capacity for ten guests at a time, it is the exclusivity that really makes you feel special. I was treated to a Rejuvenating Facial (the spa’s signature treatment) as well as a Full Body Massage. During my facial (with special focus on deep hydration), using the Krause Wiid range of products, I was exposed to the Firma Lift Cleanser, the Enzyme Exfoliator with Vaporiser, the Scrub Cream, the Anti Aging Nourishing Mask, Protein Mask, Eye & Lip Contour Cream and the Firma Lift Advanced Moisture Treatment. My skin was positively radiant by the time Marietjie had worked her magic on me! My favourite part of the facial, was the Scrub Cream, it was gentle and nonabrasive – a product that will complement any daily beauty routine. I was also impressed to feel that my skin was still soft and supple for days after my facial!

After my facial, I sauntered over to enjoy a full body massage, with gentle aroma’s and sounds creating the perfect ambience in the massage room. The hour long’s treatment was simply amazing. The right pressure hitting all the right spots - I left Krause Wiid feeling entirely relaxed, and ready to face the world again!
