Review by Liesl Grobler
Devan and Lerisha acquired Kocamoya in Durban North fairly recently, (March 2009) and have managed to bring this cozy salon into the new era of interaction with ease and dexterity. By fusing central location and tranquility the sisters manage to offer a level of convenience and practicality most people live by.
Kocamoya is not only conveniently located but offers clients a range of interesting things including all the usual salon treatments and services but also interaction of a kind not readily found in salons today.
Hands-on beauty therapist and partner Margaux, believes clients have a right to know exactly what's being done to them. If knowing in detail what's happening is not quite your cup of tea, don't be concerned, clients are given the option of getting very useful informative and enlightening running commentary on most treatments and services or they can opt to simply relax with as little talking as possible.
From interaction to practicality, the three therapists Tracy, Bella and Keri, take pride in servicing the ever changing needs of people on the move. Sports massage, eyelash extentions, reflexology , aromatherapy and all kinds of bikini waxes and a range of facials are some of the specialties.
They are also equipped to offer a range of spa treatments not often found in traditional beauty salons thanks to on-site shower facilities. The well known Ahava range of spa treatments is easily administered along with full body exfoliations and more.
Whether you're in search of a place where you can go for your weekly facial, monthly leg wax, occasional Spa Queen/King of the day six hour pamper session, or a cellulite busting G5 treatment, Kocamoya is a place to go.
Kocamoya can accommodate up to four people at a time and is a good place for a bride and her entourage to spend the wedding morning in preparation. The salon only uses products they personally endorse - like Nimue, Academie, Kanebo and Matis.
