From the distant road and from the air as you approach Le Mirage Desert Lodge and Spa, the three lodge buildings built largely from local rock materials, form a natural part of the desert environment totally in harmony with nature. The exceptional detail not to disturb the fragile desert environment is remarkable.

At the accommodation quarters, the blue pool and grass courtyard are a welcome sight, a bathing oasis necessary to expiate your entire world’s cares and worries. Nature has conspired to transform, nurture and sculpt the Namib Desert for millions of years. Le Mirage Lodge and Spa’s spacious restaurant sets off the visitor on a gastronomic tour de force, with the serving of the most delectable breakfast fare, marking a perfect start to a day in this land of harsh beauty. Lunch at the restaurant is always a light and satisfying affair, served in the cool confines of the restaurant, against the harsh elements of the desert.

Dinner conjures up a sense of romanticism: as the stars gaze down on the landscape and the hotel staff serenade the guests, the sumptuous fare is that much more enjoyable. The Namib Naukluft Park is one of the largest national parks in Africa, covering much of the central Namib Desert and the Naukluft mountains. The rich tradition of Namibian nouvelle cuisine is traced in the history of this beautiful country, a fusion of cooking traditions both European and African is inspiring.
