Treatments are conducted outdoors in Moroccan-type open air treatment rooms. Morocco is an exhilarating combination of vivid sensuality and intense spirituality, an intoxicating blend of cultures, not dissimilar to us here in South Africa. Kiasoma has tried to incorporate a blend of African Fusion, in both the décor, food and ambiance.

Kiasoma Retreat and Bush Spa uses Eco Therapy products which are produced with African Muti Mud exclusively for Kiasoma. Long before modern man made any discoveries regarding skin care products, African ancestors were very advanced in this field. The use of a "Sacred Muti Mud" was part of their everyday life and was used to nourish and heal their skins and protect against sun, heat and wind. This form of skin care was adopted in essence by the ancients after paying careful attention to the activities of the animals, especially the elephants. They noticed how these great creatures would roll around in certain areas in order to cover themselves with this reddish clay dust. The ancients further noticed how protected the animals were from the sun, heat and all the nasty bush pests as well as how healthy their skins were.

These clever ancients then began applying this magic mud onto themselves and the rest is history. This Muti Mud ritual has survived through the ages up until today with this product still being prescribed by African healers for various skin treatments.The Muti Mud clay is located in the oldest volcanic mountain range known on our planet. This area in South Africa is also known as an ancient ancestral Heritage site, as recently proclaimed. This region has been the home of well known African Healers and many Sangomas are still passing through, to gain knowledge and experience, utilize the herbs, plants and Muti Mud.

The healers are very secretive and adopt a strict code of conduct when gathering the rocks to rub together, thus creating the Muti Mud powder. This Muti Mud is a God sent blessing. This amazing mud contains several precious minerals (manganese, iron, copper, calcium, and zinc) due to the volcanic deposits which occurred millions of years ago.

Our bodies so often do not get sufficient minerals in our modern diet and our biggest organ, the skin, absorbs these minerals in synergy with various other herbal ingredients which are mixed with the Muti Mud. The skin remains soft, silky, moisturised and energised after using the Muti Mud products.
